position Summary: The Paralegal and Veterans Outreach Coordinator will support the William Booth legal Aid Clinic legal staff in case management and client services, while also coordinating the Veteran outreach needs in the community.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist staff attorneys in preparing legal documents, filings and case files
- Draft correspondence, pleadings and court forms under supervision
- Schedule and coordinate client interviews, hearing and outreach clinics
- Help maintain and organize electronic and physical case files
- Perform legal research and summarize findings
- Support legal intake process and communicate with clients regarding case status
- Maintain case management database and ensure accuracy of data entry
- Help maintain office operations and file management systems
- Plan, organize and execute community outreach initiatives and legal clinics
- Develop, implement and adjust the William Booth Legal Aid Clinic’s outreach strategies
- Maintain data on development and outreach activities
- Establish partnerships with community organizations and maintain vendor contact
- Assist with coordinating and organizing WBLAC’s annual fundraiser
- Assist in volunteer recruitment, training and recognition efforts
- Provide administrative support for Clinic events and meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or higher in Paralegal studies or related field preferred OR a relevant paralegal certificate with 2+ years of legal experience
- Event coordination or non-profit experience a plus

- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
- Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
- Willingness to learn new software as needed Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
Certificates and Licenses:
- Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
- Must have and maintain a current valid driver’s license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR)
