Job Summary
The Legal Calendar Clerk / Litigation Support Clerk provides essential administrative support to a busy legal team handling insurance defense and litigation matters. This role focuses on maintaining legal calendars, performing e filing, supporting document preparation, and ensuring compliance with court deadlines and procedures. The position requires strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in a fast paced, deadline driven environment while collaborating with attorneys and paralegals.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage legal calendars, including court dates, filing deadlines, and case milestones
- Perform e filing of legal documents through NYSCEF, PACER, and other court filing systems
- Support attorneys and paralegals with data entry, document organization, and case management
- Assist with preparation and processing of litigation documents
- Update and maintain electronic case files and document repositories
- Coordinate with legal team members to ensure deadlines and procedural requirements are met
- Provide general administrative litigation support as needed
Job Requirements
- Prior experience in a law firm or legal department in a calendaring, clerical, or litigation support role
- Strong calendaring experience with knowledge of court procedures and deadlines
- E filing experience required (NYSCEF, PACER, or similar systems)
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in data entry and document management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Reliability and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Experience collaborating with attorneys and paralegals preferred (user review recommended)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent legal experience
Work Experience
- Prior experience supporting litigation or insurance defense matters preferred (user review recommended)
