What We DoWe are seeking a highly motivated legal Intern who is eager to gain substantive exposure to in-house counsel work, transactional legal work, tax and real estate, and/or the implementation and oversight of artificial intelligence in a variety of business processes. This internship is designed for students (either in law school or in a legal focus of study) who want immersive in-house legal experience coupled with insight into strategic applications of technology and innovation within the real estate sector. The Internship will be an entirely remote work experience.
What You’ll Do
- Support legal research and data/risk analysis on tax-related and real estate law issues, including 1031 exchange regulations or transaction types, environmental issues or regulations, and compliance frameworks.
- Draft summaries, memos, and analysis of statutory and regulatory provisions for use by operations and sales teams; help prepare presentations on complex topics.
- Assist with due diligence and document review and shadow ongoing litigation.
- Participate in strategic projects involving exploration of AI tools, legal automation, and data analytics to enhance legal (and operational) workflows.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and senior leaders on practical problem solving, risk assessment, and process improvements.
Who You Are
- Current enrollment in an accredited law school or undergraduate law program.
- Strong interest in real estate, in-house legal work, tax law, and the intersection of technology with legal work.
- Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills; ability to synthesize complex legal materials.
- Ability to organize multiple projects with moving parts and strong administrative, logistical and time-management competency.
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and eagerness to contribute in a dynamic corporate legal setting.
- Comfort with technology and willingness to explore AI and legal or operational tech applications.
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting (including access to a quiet and uninterrupted workspace)
- Comfort asking questions and engaging with senior level staff and leaders.
- A plus if you have prior coursework or experience in tax law, real estate transactions, or corporate law. Familiarity with 1031 Exchange rules is a bonus but not necessary.
- A plus if you have familiarity with Office communication platforms (Teams, SharePoint)
- Interest in strategy and innovation.
$30.00 – $34.00 Hourly
This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
