Responsibilities
- Commercial Contracts – Review, provide legal advice, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts and general corporate contracts throughout the Company, such as confidentiality agreements, purchase agreements, brand licenses, technology agreements, data privacy and protection agreements, and various service agreements.
- Data Privacy and Technology – Develop and maintain effective working relationships with and provide legal advice and support to the various functional and business teams, including, in particular, the data privacy and technology teams. Keep informed of relevant legal developments with respect to certain key legal areas as identified, analyze applicability of regulations to the team as requested, and work cross-functionally with other teams to address potential matters.
- Marketing – Review and provide legal advice on marketing assets, campaigns, and contests and sweepstakes.
- Support the Company’s teams and the Legal Department on other activities/projects as-needed and as assigned.
- education: J.D degree required
- Top 20% of law School class at top tiered law school preferred
- Admitted, in good standing, to the Ohio Bar (or other state bar) required
- 2-3+ years working as contracts or licensing attorney with law firm and/or in-house experience
- Experience in technology, intellectual property, or data protection agreements
- Customer-oriented, collaborative, and able to make independent decisions and use own judgment within company guidelines
- Demonstrated skill in disciplined execution and able to achieve goals among competing priorities and deadlines with high attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent written and oral communication, including persuasive and constructive feedback skills
Expected Work Location (In Office): It is expected that you will primarily perform work at the Wendy’s Restaurant Support Center (RSC) (1 Dave Thomas Blvd, Dublin, OH 43017), or at other location(s) as designated by the Company. You are required to work in the office at least 4 days a week. Changes to work location arrangements are subject to managerial approval and business needs. #LI-Onsite

The base pay range for this position is listed below. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position. The target annual bonus for this role is 20% of annualized base salary, based on actual company and personal performance.

Pay Range: $122,000.00 – $214,000.00 Annually
