The Office of Civil Rights and Title IX is dedicated to promoting a safe and healthy campus environment through compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the education Amendments of 1972, and the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act (Campus SaVE).
Playing a crucial role in advancing the University’s commitment to fostering an environment free from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX coordinates the University’s response to complaints of unlawful discrimination and harassment and complaints of violations of University policies prohibiting discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct. This office provides strategic, operational, and collaborative oversight of the university’s current policies, procedures, and practices in support of this objective.
The Office of Civil Rights and Title IX is staffed by the Director/Title IX Coordinator, Associate Director, an investigator, four case managers, and an Administrative Support Associate. The office is also supported by Title IX Deputy Coordinators in various areas across campus, including Athletics, Dean of Students, Academic Affairs, and Human Resources.

| Primary Purpose of Position |
Reporting to the Associate Director, the Case Manager serves as a liaison between the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX and stakeholders, including, but not limited to, students, employees, Human Resources, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Police and Public Safety, and members of the public. The Case Manager is responsible for the intake, management, and, where appropriate, assignment of all reports related to discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct. The Case Manager is responsible for the coordination of case-specific supportive measures, accommodations, and resource referrals. In addition to maintaining accurate and complete records of care coordination, the Case Manager must demonstrate the ability to work independently, confidentially, and sensitively. In coordination with the rest of the department’s case management team, the Case Manager will work to develop training and outreach within the sphere of civil rights and Title IX compliance to the university community. This position generally works regular business hours but occasionally requires the flexibility, ability, and willingness to work nights and weekends as necessary to respond quickly to reports made by students, staff, faculty, parents, and others.
