Tesla is seeking a junior attorney to join the legal team supporting employment and environmental, health and safety functions. This role is suited for recent law school graduates or attorneys with 0-4 years of experience. The successful candidate will work closely with senior attorneys on legal research, drafting, project management, and administrative tasks while gaining hands-on in-house experience.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct legal research and analysis on employment and EHS matters and prepare correspondence, filings, and other legal documents under the supervision of senior attorneys
- Manage internal employment and EHS legal matters, including files, documents, policies, and procedures
- Coordinate and execute filings with labor, employment, and EHS regulatory agencies, including responses to document and information requests
- Support internal and external counsel on administrative and regulatory compliance and enforcement matters
- Assist with factual development, research, and analysis of employment and EHS legal matters, including stakeholder communication and document review
- Maintain employment and EHS legal files and track matter deadlines and schedules to ensure timely execution
- Assist with onboarding outside counsel, manage invoices and billing, and drive process and workflow improvements
What You’ll Bring
- Juris Doctor degree in Law, or equivalent experience
- 0-4 years of legal experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational, analytical, and fact-finding skills
- Tech-savvy with strong technical aptitude and proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel and cloud-based software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment
