Job Summary
Independently uses skills as an experienced organizational development and effectiveness professional with a full understanding of organizational consulting practices within medium to large, complex departments, divisions, schools and colleges to resolve a wide variety of organizational consulting issues and situations. Is proficient in identification and resolution of moderate to complex organizational issues. Works on strategic organizational consulting issues that are diverse in scope, where analysis of situations requires evaluation of various factors. Normally receives little instruction on planning, researching, and resolving organizational effectiveness issues, with general instructions and guidance provided on new assignments and / or more unique situations including strategic planning. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
This role involves overseeing the coordination and successful execution of the FAS-sponsored customer satisfaction survey, ensuring data accuracy, timely delivery, and actionable insights to support organizational improvement. The position also acts as the primary liaison to the FAS Continuous Improvement Committee, representing UCSF IT in discussions, initiatives, and collaborations to drive operational excellence and align IT services with institutional goals.
In addition, the role is responsible for monitoring and tracking departmental adherence to university-established engagement and compliance programs, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and performance standards while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. This includes identifying gaps, recommending corrective actions, and providing regular reporting to leadership to maintain alignment with university-wide objectives.
The position demands a proactive approach to fostering collaboration, implementing best practices, and driving improvements that enhance customer satisfaction and departmental performance across UCSF IT abd in support of the IT Governance Committee function.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $100,000 – $150,000 (Annual Rate).

Department Description
The Information Technology Administrative Services department enables the mission and vision of UCSF by offering a mature set of critical, cross-functional management disciplines that assure the highest standards for IT delivery. UCSF IT Administrative service functions in a highly complex environment that interacts with C-Level staff, Management and many IT service providers within the UCSF community including Finance, Human Resources, Facilities, Environmental Services and various Campus entities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Minimum 7 Years or more experience in Information Technology healthcare environment
- Advanced skills in short- and long-term strategic planning, analysis, problem-solving and customer service.
- Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and/or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees.
- Has thorough knowledge of the organizational development and effectiveness field, theories, models to assess, design and implement customized organizational interventions.
- Demonstrates analytical, problem-solving, project planning and implementation skills.
- Skilled in facilitation, consulting and relationship building.
- Possesses effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates ability to learn quickly, reason, synthesize and generalize based on information obtained.
- Ability to focus on priorities, strategies, and vision.
- Ability to coach, facilitate, influence people and-skilled in navigating organizational complexity.
