KPMG is currently seeking a Counsel, Government Contracting to join our KPMGs Office of General Counsel organization.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for reviewing and negotiating various contracts with the firms government clients for various services, including audit, tax, and advisory services
- Offer counseling on the legal issues associated with the implementation of negotiated contractual terms and government regulations
- Manage the firms anti-retaliation program, including working with others to ensure that there are relevant policies, training and communications about the program consistent with the firms risk assessment, as well as monitoring to ensure that the program is effective
- Establish and maintain contracting processes and templates
- Conduct legal research to support contracting attorneys in advising clients
Qualifications:
- Minimum four years of recent experience with government contracting with a leading law firm and/or in house; experience with a Big 4 accounting firm a plus; experience with Government regulations concerning IP ownership and licensing is a plus, but not required
- Applicant must have J.D. or LLM from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in the United States, including in the state in which his/her office is located
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with consistently high-quality work product in a fast-paced environment
- Client-service orientation with the ability to create effective working relationships cross-functionally, including interfacing with internal and external stakeholders on legal and business matters
- Assumed leadership and strategic thinking in sensitive and complex situations with the highest ethical standards, integrity, authenticity, credibility, and character
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
