Criminal Defense Attorney – Washington, D.C.
Our client, a growing and fast-paced law practice, is seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join its Washington, D.C. office. This role offers the opportunity to handle a wide range of cases-from misdemeanors to serious felonies-across local, state, and federal courts.
Responsibilities
- Manage criminal cases from arraignment through trial
- Handle motions practice, plea negotiations, and court appearances
- Conduct legal research and draft motions and briefs
- Advise clients on legal strategy and case outcomes
- Collaborate with attorneys and support staff on case preparation
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active D.C. Bar membership (in good standing)
- 3-5+ years of criminal defense experience
- Trial experience strongly preferred
- Strong advocacy, negotiation, and writing skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload
