Job Summary
The Legal Assistant – Regulatory Document Review provides administrative and document review support for a regulatory and legal team. This role is responsible for reviewing complex filings, disclosures, and regulatory documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established requirements. The ideal candidate has strong reading comprehension, exceptional attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Training will be provided on applicable processes and systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Review responses to regulatory comment letters and verify that requested revisions have been completed.
- Review disclosure forms and identify affirmative responses requiring additional evaluation.
- Identify incomplete, missing, or inaccurate documentation and escalate issues appropriately.
- Review advertisements and marketing materials for required disclosures and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct first-level reviews of regulatory filing amendments.
- Communicate required revisions and discrepancies to internal stakeholders.
- Review lengthy documents while comparing multiple records for accuracy and consistency.
- Navigate web-based filing and document management systems to complete assigned work.
- Manage multiple assignments while meeting established deadlines.
- Collaborate with legal professionals, examiners, and cross-functional team members.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation throughout the review process.
- Communicate professionally in both written and verbal formats.
- Support additional administrative and regulatory projects as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of professional office or administrative experience.
- Experience reviewing detailed documentation, contracts, disclosures, regulatory filings, or similar records preferred.
- Legal assistant, paralegal, compliance, regulatory, document review, claims, records management, contract administration, or similar experience is preferred.
- Strong reading comprehension and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Comfortable working with web-based filing and document management systems.
- Ability to review lengthy documents accurately while comparing multiple sources of information.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, high-volume office environment.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
