The Role
The Summer Associate/Intern role will have a diverse workload driven by business priorities. The responsibilities include support of our Senior Counsel/Head of legal, and the work of the Legal/Compliance department. Your work may focus on contracts, regulatory analysis of investment funds, and supporting actuarial services, technology licensing, corporate governance, and international coordination.
Your Responsibilities:
- Contract/document review, editing, and identification of matters in need of attention.
- Compliance support with DDQs and RFPs.
- Corporate governance – gather data to support board and/or committee preparations in advance of meetings.
- Contract process discipline – enforce and execute our workflow process.
- Support international team launching funds.
Job Knowledge, experience Skills
Job Knowledge Required:
- Enrolled in a Juris Doctor degree program
Experience and Soft Skills Required:
- The ideal candidate is comfortable in an environment with varied work and shifting priorities.
- Adaptability and composure under deadlines and shifting priorities
- The ability to articulate questions to accelerate learning
- Clear, concise writing
- Ownership mentality and willingness to take the initiative
Location
Candidates hired into this role will be required to work in-person in the Milliman office in Chicago, IL on a weekly basis, but flexible work arrangements will be considered. The expected Application deadline for this job is March 31, 2026.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $21 – $44 per hour depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
