KPMG is currently seeking a Managing Director and Associate General to join our Office of General Counsel to lead its Technology and Intellectual Property team.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, this position will lead and manage a team of legal professionals and provides strategic support for technology, vendor contracting, privacy and intellectual property issues
- Oversee negotiation and drafting of vendor contracts, licensing deals, privacy contracting and technology transactions with clients
- Provide strategic counsel on intellectual property protection, licensing and portfolio management
- Develop policies, playbooks and templates to streamline technology and IP contracting
- Partner with business, risk management professionals and internal technology teams to align legal support with business objectives
Qualifications:
- Minimum of ten years of legal experience, including in-house experience in technology transactions, intellectual property and privacy contracting
- J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials; licensed and in good standing to practice law
- Proven track record of managing and developing high-performing legal teams
- Demonstrated ability to advise business leaders on emerging technology, related regulatory matters and IP protection
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions
- Strong business judgment and ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives in a fast-paced environment
