Qualifications

education and experience: Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school and experience equivalent to two years of full-time increasingly responsible clerical accounting, bookkeeping, or sales auditing work.

Overview

Under general supervision, an employee in this class processes hunting and fishing license and boat registration applications of moderate difficulty and performs related work as required. An employee in this classification is responsible for assisting customers with purchasing hunting and fishing licenses and boat registrations, scanning and archiving applications and deposit records into electronic databases, and accounting audits of daily deposits. Ensure that license applications, daily deposits and other documents are scanned and archived into electronic databases for future reference. This classification is the working level of this series and differs from the Licensing Specialist 3 in that the latter functions at an advanced level addressing more complex duties.

Responsibilities

1. Process applications for hunting and fishing licenses and boat registrations. Process commercial paddle craft applications. Process agent agreements for vendors selling licenses on behalf of the agency. Update customer profiles in license and registration database.

2. Process incoming mail received by the sales office. Determine type of Application received, verify completeness of application, and code details of purchase into database.

3. Answer incoming phone calls concerning hunting and fishing license questions; boat registration questions, hunter and boating safety certification classes, hunting and fishing regulations, and a variety of other wildlife related topics.

3. Balances revenue generated by the processing of license and boat registration applications. Creates deposits of all funds received. Audits daily deposits for other staff in the division to verify correct accounting. Balances division deposits and transfers to accounting division for transmittal to treasury.

4. Maintains and indexes paper files including but not limited to boat applications, license applications, and daily deposits. Scans and uploads documents into electronic database.

5. Researches applications for chargeback notifications returned to the agency. Researches documentation received with cash and checks to determine appropriate accounts for deposit.

TN Driver Standards

State of Tennessee positions that may involve driving responsibilities require candidates to meet the following minimum driver qualifications:
