Public Finance Associate

Chapman and Cutler LLP is seeking to hire an Associate to join the Public Finance Department in its Chicago, Charlotte, New York or San Francisco office. The successful candidate will have 1-5 years of general finance or transactional experience at a bank or large or medium-size law firm. Experience in public finance, federal tax law and/or municipal law is highly desired. Chapman will also consider recent law school graduates with a demonstrated interest in public finance.
Examples of specific types of desired experience include the following:

* Experience with drafting financing documents, document review, and organizing closings

* Familiarity with transactional work focusing on public finance transactions, including municipal derivatives and bond issues

* Experience working and communicating directly with clients

The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials as well as superior interpersonal, analytical, organizational and writing skills. Commitment to client service is critical, as is the ability to handle fast-paced transactions and juggle multiple projects and deadlines. Successful candidates will project a professional presence and demonstrated flexibility in work situations. The successful candidate will be available to work during non-standard work hours and work long hours when necessary.

Candidates must be members in good standing of the appropriate state Bar.
In accordance with pay transparency laws, the expected salary range for this position is between $225,000 – $365,000. The benefits overview for this position is available for review at the below link.
