| Essential Job Duties |
The HR Service Specialist provides front-line customer service to individuals (including employees and faculty as well as external customers) who contact HR for assistance including assisting newly-hired employees/customers completing Form I-9. This position greets customers warmly, identifies customer question(s) and underlying needs, and if the customer needs to complete an I-9, the Specialist identifies the appropriate employee record in the University’s electronic I-9 system (I-9 Guardian by LawLogix), reviews appropriate identification documents provided by the employee corresponding to federal requirements, and assists the new employee in accurately completing the I-9 form electronically. Customer service is provided in-person, by phone, by email, and by HRNow.
The work will be fast-paced at times with new customers often immediately following preceding customers including balancing customer inquiries by phone, in-person, email, and system simultaneously at times. As part of the department, may take on additional duties/responsibilities to support the department or other UHR operations as needed. Note: This is a customer-facing role and will be working in proximity to customers on a daily basis. The position entails work that must be completed onsite between 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Remote/hybrid schedules are not available. |
