ROLE SUMMARY:
The Legal Department Intern supports the Legal Department by assisting with the administration and maintenance of the contract lifecycle management (CLM) system. This role is responsible for uploading, organizing, and tracking contract records, reviewing documents for completeness and accurate data entry, and supporting document management processes. The position also provides administrative and operational assistance to attorneys and legal staff while ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive legal and business information. This role offers hands-on experience with contract management systems and legal operations in a professional environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Learn and assist with the use of the Legal Department’s contract lifecycle management (CLM) software system
- Upload, organize, and maintain contract records and related data within the CLM platform
- Review contracts and supporting documents for completeness and accurate data entry
- Assist with document management, filing, and contract tracking processes
- Support attorneys and legal staff with administrative and operational projects as needed
- Maintain confidentiality of legal and business information
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate, graduate, or Juris Doctor (J.D.) program, with an expected graduation date after completion of the internship.
- Pursuing a degree in law, Legal Studies, Business, Life Sciences, Public Policy, or a related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
- Authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.
- Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the summer internship program.
- Prior internship, research, or work experience in a legal, compliance, regulatory, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology environment.
- Familiarity with intellectual property, commercial contracting, privacy, regulatory compliance, or life sciences legal issues.
- Experience reviewing, drafting, or analyzing legal documents.
